big weekend of racing ahead

First up  Saturday is the Hairy Coo which John McCallum is going to take on, good luck to him, looking out the window this morning it's mighty wet out there, Go Johnny Go.
Tomorrow is round 3(2) of the SCX at the legendary Auchentoshan course, famed for its mud and close proximity to the distillery of the same name, this should prove to be a tough old mud fest. But it promises to be a good turnout for the team with at the last count 7 riders heading there (Anja, Jac, Marty, John, Andy, Dougy, Me) and it looks like some unruly weather will be making its first appearance of this cross season.
And down south Paul Davies is racing I think here good luck wee man.

More coffee now,

VCM @ Cycle 08

I am back from my stint in the big smoke, and a fairly exhausting time it was. A big thankyou to all the team and helpers who helped out at the weekend to make Glenmore happen, I will make sure I am around next year and put in a double shift.
Anyway, we were really busy on the Endura stand and were showcasing some of our new custom kit garments including this really sweet Ultra Packable Showerproof which for the show the guys printed up in VCM colours, the response was mighty impressive too, with numerous punters offering to buy the garment of the stand!
Welcome on board also new team rider Phil Moore who most of you will have met now at Glenmore.
Enough, see you at Auchentoshan.

cross season is here

Just in case you haven't been able to find the SCX calendar, it's here,on Friday afternoon I finalised the course for  our Glenmore Cross in the Cairngorms, it's going to be a fast and furious race with grass, singletrack, berms and fast tarmac sections to test the fittest of the skinny folks, gutted I have to work at the London Cycle Show as I think this has potential to be a regular on the circuit and if I can squeeze a bit more distance into the course would make a great Champs course.
3 Peaks this coming weekend which sees, Anja, Jac, Stevo, Deano and myself all putting ourselves through the calf clenching torture of this classic I've been trying my hardest to squeeze 'proper' type training in for this but to brutally honest, it hasn't happened. Family and work commitments have been taking priority, so I guess with 6 days to go its all about not drinking too much? Eat well and sleep better? Fingers crossed, I'm sure this time next week there should be some interesting postings.

Take it easy out there,

The Story So Far

Cross season had finished and the thought of a long summer of riding and racing was proving hard to fill tired legs and hearts with enthusiasm. Something had to be done. Mark Williamson and Chris Duncan decided it was time to spice up coming season and get a team up and running. With a passion for all elements of the sport and a equally deep passion for our Belgian brethren, it was decided to launch a Belgian inspired team for multi discipline athletes of varying abilities, the passion was the key to success, so the hunt was on for like minded riders and associates.

It didn’t take long to muster up enthusiasm for the team and within the space of a couple of weeks the team was fast approaching half a dozen and some partners were on board to help where they could. Like the best of plans the pieces slowly all started to fall into place, this was the start.

Why Velo Club Moulin? We make no secret of our desire to create a ‘European’ mystique to the team in both style and name. Moulin is an area within our local where most good rides start and many more finish. Velo Club, was easy this wasn’t a discipline specific team, riders would be participating in Cross Country, Downhill, Cyclo Cross, Road, Time Trial and Marathon (road and off road) events as well as generally riding wherever time would permit and with passion over and above everything else.
